‘tis the Season, Pelvic Floor Love & WE ARE MAUD
Let’s Talk Pelvic Floor…
Your pelvic floor muscles form a sling between your pubic bone and tailbone. They are what keeps your urine and bowel movements controlled.
Learning to coordinate and control your pelvic floor muscles is the key to preventing incontinence and improving sexual function.
When we think of pelvic floor exercises our first thought is kegels, but there is so much more to healthy pelvic function. Sometimes people start losing control over their pelvic floor muscles simply because the neural pathways decide to stop working properly. This results in a weakening of muscles, pelvic pain, pain during sex, urine & fecal incontinence.
We really believe that everyone should visit a Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist at least once in a lifetime to learn about this incredible part of the body.
