Does Maud offer pre-natal and post-partum pelvic floor physiotherapy?
There are so many benefits to seeing a pelvic floor physiotherapist prior to becoming pregnant. Your therapist can teach you about your body, provide pelvic exercises so you can best prepare for pregnancy.
Pre-natal pelvic floor physical therapy should not be preformed until you are 12 weeks into your pregnancy.
Post-partum pelvic floor physiotherapy should not be preformed until at least 6 weeks after the delivery of your baby.
In pelvic floor physiotherapy, must I receive internal examination?
Yes, ideally you should expect internal and external examination. All treatments are in a private room with a female pelvic floor physiotherapist. You are welcome to bring a partner / friend with you for support.
